C. Crary, manager of Pelican Bay Lodge, on Klamath lake, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. D. E. Hyde, of Ashland, on the 8th inst., at the age of forty-five years, five months and twenty-two days. Mr. Crary was a native of Illinois and came to Ashland in 1893. In 1894 he was operated upon for appendicitis and never fully recovered, finally contracting consumption. For the past few months he has been in Southern California, but found no relief. Mr. Crary was a man of rare social and considerable musical abilities, genial and whole souled, and has a wide circle of friends throughout this section, who will be grieved to learn of his death. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Masons, and obsequies were conducted by the latter fraternity on Sunday afternoon.
