E. CONSER DIES ON 63RD BIRTHDAY Van Elder Conser, well known resident of Medford where he made his home until a few years ago when he went to Crescent City, Calif., passed away at the home of his son, Elder Conser of 139 Portland avenue, Medford, Friday evening. Mr. Conser came to Medford Thursday to visit his son and daughter here and was stricken with a heart attack and died in a few minutes. He was born at Bellview, Ohio, Oct. 12, 1871 and died on his 63rd birthday. He was married in Kansas to Annie Mickey 39 years ago, and from where the family moved to California and came to Medford in 1908. Shortly after his arrival in Medford he engaged in the mercantile business and established what is now known as the Home Grocery on East Main street. He was in business here practically all the time of his residence here, and went to Crescent City for his health where he was also in the grocery business. Mr. Conser was a member of the Methodist church. He leaves besides his wife, two children, Elder Conser Jr., and Katherine E. Stinson of Medford. Also two sisters, one in the east and one in California. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. William J. Howell at the Conger chapel at 2:00 p.m. Monday with interment in the Siskiyou Memorial Park.
