Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Wednesday, 4 March 1925 
John Conley, well known resident of Lake Creek, where he has spent the greater 
part of the past 30 years on the M. F. Hanley ranch, passed away at the Sacred 
Heart hospital at 10 P. M. Tuesday. Deceased was born in New York on Christmas 
day, 1862, and was aged 62 years 2 months 8 days. He came to Jackson county in 
June, 1892, and has been a close friend of the Hanleys since that time. Mr. 
Conley has exemplified a fine type of manhood and will be greatly missed in 
the locality, where he has so long resided. He leaves no relatives, but a host 
of friends. Funeral services will be held at the Conger Funeral chapel at 2:30 
P. M. Thursday, Rev. J. B. Coan officiating. Interment will be made in the 
Hanley plot in Jacksonville cemetery.
