The sorrowing relatives and friends carried her back to the home of her childhood for interment, where on her father's old place a number of her brothers and sisters are buried. Their many friends extend sympathy to the bereaved ones who deeply mourn their loss. Additional Comments: First, middle and maiden names discovered from a combination of sources: 1880 and 1900 US Census, population schedules, Jackson County, Oregon; newspaper article, Eagle Point (Oregon) Independent, week of August 2-8, 1978, p. 10, "'Member When: Cassius Clay Charley"; genealogy donated by family member in files of Eagle Point Historical Society, accessed 24 June 2006 by transcriber. Indices of known burial sites in Jackson County were checked for Hurst and Charley burials but her location was not found. It is felt that Mary Hurst Charley was likely buried in the Climax area of Jackson County where the Charley donation land claim and probably the Hurst property was also located.
