Chartraw, 84, and a resident of Jackson county for 52 years, the last 14 of which were spent in Medford, passed away at his home on Berrydale avenue yesterday afternoon. Mr. Chartraw was born in Ontario, Canada May 24, 1853. He came to the states in 1883 and coming to Oregon, settled at Derby where he remained for 30 years, then spent 6 years at Gold Hill bef coming to Medford 14 years ago. In 1888 he was married to Mary Higinbotham of Derby, who survives. Besides his wife he is survived by four children, Fred Chartraw and Myrtle Kelso of Medford, R. R. Chartraw, Santa Rosa, Calif., and W. E. Of Klamath Falls. Also one grandson and one great grandson. Funeral services will be held at the Conger chapel at 10:00 a. m. Friday with interment in the Butte Falls cemetery.
