Thursday, aged 63 years. From his native state the family moved to Kansas and from there to California. But for more than 45 years he has been a resident of the Rogue River valley. He was married in 1887 at Jacksonville to Mrs. Helen Drayton, who survives him. Their home was on Evans creek. The surviving children are: Mrs. G. T. Howell, Rogue River, Ore.; Mrs. P. O’Leary, Pendleton, Oregon; Mrs. R. D. Evinsizer, Spokane, Wash.; R. R. Carter, Dorris, Cal.; Mrs. F. Bradford, Yoncalla, Ore.; W. E. Carter, Glendale, Ore.; Mrs. C. H. Bates, Rogue River, Ore.; Robert A. Carter, Oakland, Cal.; Roy, of Rogue River, Mrs. R. Crump, Rogue River; also two stepdaughters, Mrs. F. Mayfield, [Be]agle, Ore.; Mrs. M. Finney, [Ja]cksonville, Ore.
