F. CAMPBELL TO LAST REWARD William Franklin Campbell entered into rest at his home, 804 East Main street, at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, aged 69 years. He was born at Winchester, Va., October 12, 1867, the son of Dr. Labanus Campbell and Elizabeth Beall Campbell. Mr. Campbell was an employe of the Carnegie Steel Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa., where he was "boss heater" and "puddler," one of the most responsible as well as the most dangerous positions known in the steel industry. He was alternately employed at McKeesport, Pa., and Duquesne, Pa., for 36 years. Mr. Campbell was a member of the Presbyterian church at Duquesne, Pa., but on coming to Medford transferred his membership to the First M. E. church of this city. Mr. Campbell leaves his wife, Frances, as well as a son, Sergeant J. H. Campbell, U. S. marines, Bremerton, Wash.; and a daughter, Mrs. Mary L. Howard, of Pine Castle, Fla. A host of friends are left who will mourn the passing of a genial soul who loved his fellow man, one who loved nature and one who never failed to lend a helping hand or give a kindly word to those in trouble. Mr. Campbell was a well known and respected citizen of this city, where he had made his home for the past 13 years. Funeral will be Wednesday afternoon from Conger funeral parlors. Interment in Siskiyou Memorial Park. Mr. Campbell was a member of the Elks' lodge of McKeesport, Pa., for many years. He transferred his membership to Medford lodge No. 1168 upon coming to Medford.
