Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Thursday, 9 Jan 1930, p. 2, c. 4
Mrs. Ellen Benson, age 59 years 11 months passed away at her home two miles 
north of Medford, January 8th, after a lingering illness of several months. 
She was born at Rock Island, Ill., February 9th, and at the age of 34 was 
united in marriage to Frank Benson who passed away in this city in 1917. Mrs. 
Benson had been a resident of the Rogue river valley for about 46 years and 
had a host of friends who mourn her passing. She is survived by one daughter 
and one son, both living at the home, Eula and Rafael Benson; also her mother, 
Sarah E. Purcell, two brothers, Victor, of Medfor, and Orvid Purcell of Mt.  
View, California. Funeral services will be conducted from the Conger Funeral 
parlors February, Jan. 10, at 2 p. m. Rev. D. E. Millard will have charge of 
services and interment will be made in the Central Point cemetery
