S. Welch of Prospect, passed away at Copco, Cal., May 16, 1925. Death, according to the inquest held, was due to an electrical shock received while at work on a line, from which he died instantly. He was born in Alleghany, New York, Jan. 20, 1896, aged 29 years, 3 months, 26 days. Deceased spent two and one-half years in the service of his country during the World war, and served at the front in Germany. He enlisted with Battery D, 18th field artillery at Ft. McDowell, Cal. Mr. Welch was well known in and about Medford, having resided here for more than 10 years, and was to have been married next month to Miss Celma Hansen of Medford. Besides his parents he leaves three sisters, Mrs. C. A. Bennett of Norwalk, Cal.; Mrs. S. S. Ingels, Prospect, Ore., and Mrs. Anlo Penwell of Medford. Military funeral services were held at the Conger chapel this afternoon at 2:30. The body will be held to await the completion of the Medford Mausoleum.
