D. Swingle, southern Oregon pioneer, who visiting in Medford Friday, cleared up a cryptic statement credited to him at the last meeting of the Southern Oregon Pioneer association. Mr. Swingle, at the reunion, said that he had lived in three counties in southern Oregon so moving his residence. His explanation of this assertion, as given Friday was: "I was born April 22, 1858, in a house which stood near the present Von der Hellen home in Antelope. In 1870 moved to Upper Lost River, which was then a part of Jackson County. Later the place where I resided was taken from Jackson County and placed in Lake county. Later still, it was placed in Klamath county. Thus I can say that I have lived in three counties and yet not moved my residence." Mr. Swingle moved to Ashland about thirty years ago where he has since continued to make his home.
