SCHLEFFELIN. Edward Schleffelin, a mining man of California, was found dead in his cabin near Canyonville, Douglas County, Friday. The coroner's jury decided that death, resulted from natural causes. He had $68.75 in coin and a gold watch on his person. Schleffelin was one of the original discoverers of the famous Tombstone mine in Arizona, and was widely known as a prospector and mining man. He was in partnership with Alex Orme in numerous mines on Evans creek, and was on his way to this section at the time of his death. He was quite well and favorably known in this section, having been raised on a farm on Rogue river in this county, and his career was one full of romance, and rarely experienced.
