Poole, 67, a resident of Ashland for the last two years, died yesterday from the effects of a self-inflicted wound. He lived an hour. He was sufferer from an incurable ailment and left the following note: "To everybody: I killed myself and am sorry. There seems no other way." The deed occurred in the family home. Poole, who appeared normal, walked into a bedroom. A moment later a shot was heard. Relatives rushed in and found him lying on the floor. In his conscious moments he talked of his act, remarking, according to the coroner, "I guess I shot too high." Poole fired a bullet into his left side in an effort to strike his heart. Poole was a former resident of Colorado Springs, Colo., and is survived by his wife, two sons and a brother, all living in Ashland at 126 Van Ness avenue. The funeral services will be held today.
