His wife, and two children, Huston, age 4, and Labonne, age 5, escaped with minor cuts and bruises. The collision came, according to a report made tot he state police by S. Fujii, 823 Central building, Seattle, driver of the car which hit the one driven by Glass, as Glass pulled onto the Pacific highway from a side road. The report stated that Fujii was traveling at a moderate rate of speed, and that the first he knew of the approaching Glass car was when it suddenly appeared in front of him. Neither Fujii nor Edward Richardson, a passenger in the car, was injured badly, both receiving only minor cuts on the head, according to investigating officers. County Coroner Frank Perl was called to the scene of the accident by state police, and removed the Glass family to the hospital. There appeared to be no witness to the accident with the exception of those directly involved, state police said. Officers expected to procure a statement from Mrs. Glass this afternoon. An autopsy will be performed tonight, Coroner Perl said, with the inquest being held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock in District Attorney George Codding's office. Death of Mr. Glass was directly caused by a compound fracture of the skull, Coroner Perl said. According to investigating state police officers, Glass was driving a model T Ford with home-made top and body, and Fujii a Buick coach. The Glass machine was almost totally demolished, it was said, while damage to Fujii's car was minor. Fujii, it was stated by police, was not being held in custody but would remain in Medford until after the inquest. Part of Fujii's statement given to state police follows: "I was going at very moderate speed, but I did not see his light until I came to notice his car, s Orange short I don't know how many feet exactly. He just pulled right out in front of me and I applied on my brakes as soon as I noticed his car, but he came right in the middle of the highway and I could not avoid it. After accident I run out of my car and helped Mrs. Glass and her husband until they were taken to the hospital." Mr. Glass is survived by his wife, Aline Class, and two children, also his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Glass of Medford; two brothers, Joe Glass of Talent, and Sam Glass of Medford; and two sisters, Ruth Clark and Theda Glass of Medford. The body is at the Conger Funeral Parlors, where funeral services will be announced later.
