Arthur H. Davidson, son of Harlo A. Davidson believed to have drowned in Rogue river, arrived this week from his post at Fort Knox, Ky., to assist in the search for his father's body. It has been two weeks since the body of a man was seen floating in Rogue river on the same day Davidson disappeared from his home at the end of Portola drive. Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Tuesday, 11 Apr 1944, p. 8 BODY IS FOUND IN ROGUE RIVER Grant's Pass, April 11. - The body of Harlo A. Davidson, 58, missing since March 24, was found Sunday in Rogue river caught in driftwood at Findley bend. Frank Dolan, Route 2, a fisherman, reported the body to the state police. Sgt. J. A. Maulding and Coroner Virgil Hull removed the body and identified it from a driver's license and other papers in the pockets. The death was pronounced accidental by Coroner Hull. Davidson was last seen at noon of the day a body was noticed in the river by men fishing from Caveman bridge in late afternoon. His hat and rake were found at a garden plot at the river's edge where he had been working near his home at the end of Portola drive. His son, Pvt. Arthur H. Davidson arrived last week from Fort Knox, Ky., to aid in the search. He left to return to his post Monday. The remains were cremated at Hillcrest Crematorium. Davidson was born Nov. 5, 1885, at Corning, N.Y. He is survived also by his wife, who is in a Salem hospital.
