Times. A most delightful social gathering in this city was the celebration of the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bliton, 917 Olivia Place, held Saturday afternoon from 4 to 7 at their home, where seventy guests assembled to observe with them their silver wedding. Among the guests was a company from Salem, all of whom had attended the wedding twenty-five years ago. The home was prettily decorated for the occasion with cut flowers and ferns, and great quantities of these sent by friends in remembrance of the day added to the beauty. A supper was served and each guest on leaving the dining room was presented with a carnation. During the afternoon a delightful program of music was furnished by Mrs. Sidney Smith and Mrs. Kessie Dicken-Reed, who sang several solos, accompanied by Miss Minnie Davis, and piano selections by Miss Una Beaghler. Misses Esther and Alice Bliton, daughters of the host and hostess, also added many pretty selections to the program. There were many handsome and appropriate gifts signifying the high esteem in which Mr. and Mrs. Bliton are held by the many friends who know them. Mr. and Mrs. Bliton have resided in Ann Arbor the past twenty-five years, coming here directly after their marriage, which took place April 9, 1883, in Northfield, at the home of the bride's father, Theophilus Learned. Mr. Bliton has for several years been one of the prominent builders and contractors in this city. They are the parents of four daughters, Misses Eunice, Esther, Alice and Rachel. Miss Eunice Bliton, who is teaching school in Kankakee, Ill., was here to attend the wedding [sic]. Among other guests present were Rev. Jacob Horton and wife, Mrs. J. T. Berry, of Ypsilanti, C. F. Learned and wife, Jackson, W. B. Thompson and wife, E. L. Learned and wife, Herber Smith and wife, Gilbert Thompson and wife, Mrs. Judson Thompson, Dwight Peebles, Mrs. William R. Hamilton, of Salem.
