The youth was fatally injured last night when he was hurled against the railings of the fairground race track. John Berry, 19, another Medford boy and driver of the automobile, was only slightly injured. The boys, coming here for the hay harvest, had aken their ancient flivver onto the track for a spin. The car struck the railing when it failed to make a turn and Croucher was hurled against the boards. The dead youth was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Croucher of Berrydale. He was a senior in the Medford high school, and was popular with schoolmates. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed, but the body will be brought to this city today.
