According to reports, Lininger was working with a rock crusher when a rock rolled down a hill, striking him in the head. Fellow employees saw the rock coming, the report stated, but noisy machinery prevented Lininger from hearing their cries of warning. He is survived by his wife and son, 161 Harrison street; his mother, Mrs. Mary Lininger; three brothers, Bruce, Earl and Raymond; and a sister, Mrs. Gladys Wright, La Grande. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Litwiller Funeral chapel, with interment in Mountain View cemetery. Lininger was a member of the Masonic and Elks lodges. Services will be in charge of the Masonic order.
