L. Miller of Foot's Creek announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Phyllis Miller, to Ben Allan Newell of Newburg. The betrothal was revealed at a 'daisy' party given Saturday afternoon at the Miller home. After novel games were played, refreshments carrying out the daisy theme were served at the table decorated with flowers and autumn leaves. Each place was marked with paper daisies bearing the names of the couple on the petals. Those bidden to the affair were Miss Ruth Lance, Mrs. Mildred Swindler and Mrs. Berenice Baker of Foot's Creek; and the Misses Irene Stedman, Maxine Holifield and Virginia Loomis of Medford. The wedding will be solemnized January 1 at the home of the bride's parents in Foot's Creek. Miss Miller attended the Southern Oregon Teacher's College in Ashland. Later she studied at Oregon State college where the couple met. Mr. Newell, a sergeant in the R.O.T.C. will be graduated from Oregon. Following their marriage, the couple will make their home in Corvallis.
