Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Putney celebrate their 50th anniversary Sunday, October 2nd at their home on Plum street. Mr. Putney was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, March 8th, 1848, and Mrs. Putney, formerly Miss Elizabeth Huss, was born in Lena, Ill., June 24th, 1853. They were married at Independence, Iowa, October 1st, 1871. From there they moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin, and eleven years ago they came to Medford, where they have resided ever since. To this union seven children were born, all of whom are living and married. The children are Mrs. L. H. Tucker, Mr. Arthur M. Putney, Mrs. C. W. Pursell, Mrs. Edward C. Root of Medford, Mr. J. W. Putney of Becer, Minn., Mrs. Lawrence E. Dickson of Portland and Mr. Chester H. Putney of Ashland. Mr. Putney is a Civil War veteran and is a member of the G. A. R. Post of this city, being one of its ex-commanders. His youngest son, Chester H. Putney, was in the World war, and served in France thirteen months with the 58th engineers. There are ten living grand children and one great grand child. Mrs. F. M. Putney, great grandmother, Mrs. L. H. Tucker, grandmother, Mrs. Earl Conklin of Tacoma, Washington, mother of the great grand daughter Miss Naomi Ruth, ma[k]e the four generations. A three course dinner will be served at the home of the parents. Covers will be laid for twenty. Those present will be: Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Putney, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Putney, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Putney, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Pursel [sic], Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Root, Mrs. L. E. Dickson, Mr. and Mrs. Chester H. Putney, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Isaac, Masters Maynard and Maurice Putney and Marvin Wick. This will be the first time the family circle has been complete for many years.
