Well Known Canby Couple Are Married
Miss Sylvia Mae Wells and George Criteser Married Wednesday Morning
One of the most prominent weddings of the seasonn was solemnized at 11 o'clock 
Wednesday morning,September 26,when Miss Sylvia Mae Wells,popular Canby 
girl,became the bride of of George Criteser,also of this city,the wedding 
taking place at the Evangelical church in this city,Rev.G.W.Plumer,pastor of 
the church performing the ceremony in the presence of relatives and immediate 
friends,mrs John Koehler played the wedding march .the church was decorated 
with flowers,vines,and ferns for the wedding.
The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs John Wells,and has a host of 
friends in this vicinity where she was born and reared to womanhood,and since 
her parents took charge of the telephone exchange here,she has been an able 
assistant.Mrs Criteser was a candidate iin the Clackamas County Fair Queen 
contest,herld here recently and was a close second iin the race,which shows 
she is highly loved and respected in this community.
The groom is also well and favorably known in this community and is a son of 
Mr and Mrs Newt.Criteser,who reside nea New Era.George for some time attended 
the Canby High School and up till recently had been emploed at the Doernbecker 
Mill at Coalco.
After a short honeymoon to Tacoma,Wash.,they will return to Canby where they 
will make their home in the Cross Residence.
The Herlad and it many readers extend to the happy young couple,happiness and 
prosperity throughout the years to come
