Farewell Dinner
A farewell and wedding dinner combined was the event at the home of W.W.Todd 
Sunday.In honor of the marriage of Miss Arva Todd and Mr.Ralph Underwood,and 
to bid bon voyage to the latter,who left for Monterey,California,Wednesday 
evening for the training camp where he enters training for the engineer and 
signal corps.
It would have been a most happy occassion if it were not for the shadow of Mr 
Underwoods immediate departure,which tempered the delights of the festive 
event.The best wishes of the hosta of friends of the pretty bride will be with 
her and her gallant husband,who has answered the countrys call iin her time of 
need,and everone who knows them will most earnestly hope that he may return 
safely at the end of the difficulties.
Thos who were present were Mr and Mrs David Nelson,Nellie,David and Lechter 
Nelson,of Oswego,Ernest Nelson,from Mohler;Mr and Mrs G.V. Nelson,from 
Portland;Mr and Mrs Vernon carter and daughter,Mr and Mrs Ed Chuck and son,Mr 
and Mrs Clyde Churchill,Miss Gladys Schawper of Oswego,and Mrs S.E. Cox,of 
Hood River.
The Times joins with the friends of the happy pair in best wishes for an early 
return of Mr.Underwood and a long and happy life of the young people.
