All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com October 15, 2006, 11:08 am Clackamas County News June 30,1921 Well Known Mulloy Couple Married Mulloy,June 23- A pretty wedding was solemnized at four o'clock today at the home fo the brides parents,Mr and mrs Abbo Peters ,near Mulloy,when Miss Esther may Peters became the bride of Clinton Partouw Rev W.A Guaffroy,of Tigard performed the ceremony under a wedding bell of pink and white,decorated with the same colors in sweet peas,interwoven with wild woods greenery.The house decorations were of pink and white.The altar was lined with Oregons beautiful Wild orange blossoms. Miss Peters wore a gown of Crepe Metor and Georgetta Crepe,trimmed in venetian lace and pearl beads,wearing a full length veil draped with orange blossoms and carrying a shower bouquet of brides roses. Miss Agnes peters,a sister of the bride attended the bride.In a dainty gown of pink silk covered with cream net and bands of lace,carrying pink carnations.Two little flower girls ,meredith Peters,in pink,and Dorothy Shipley,in blue organdy,preceded the bride with baskets of pink and white sweet peas.Jess Portouw,brother of the groom,was best man. Miss Lillian Peterson sang "O Promise Me" and her mother,Mrs nellie Peterson,of Portland,playing the wedding march,continuing with soft music during the wedding service. Miss Peters was born in the home from which she was married .After graduating from the home school,she took up piano music as a profession acquiring a marked degree of success. Clinton Partouw resides at Multnomah with his mother,Mrs Lulu Partouw,and has beem employed by the Oregon Electric for several years. Shortly after the wedding the guests repaired to the Mulloy Hall,where a most elaborate dinner was served at five o'clock. The dinner guests numbering 86 were served by Nola Turner,Eva Seedling,Camille Slyter,and Myrtle Aden,Agnes Wheaton and mrs Elsie Wheaton. At eight o'clock a reception was given to the many friends of the bride and groom.A few surprise numbers were announced.Miss Agnes Peters entertained with a violin solo,accompanied by Mrs Clifford .Miss Lillian Peterson rendered two vocal solos,accompanied by her mother,and Miss Lucille Tooze favored the gathering with two vocal selections excellently rendered assisted by Mrs Clifford at the piano.Then Slyter read an original poem addressed to the newly married pair,after which an orchestra,under the direction of mr and mrs Clifford,took charge of the affairs and started the merry dance that lasted until a late hour,the dancers being refreshed with lemonade,ice cream and cake.
