Prominent Couple Married last friday
James mahlum takes Popular Canby girl as bride;will make home on farm
One of the most prominent weddings of the year occurred last friday,August 
25,at 11 o'clock,when James mahlum and Edith johnson were united in holy 
wedlock at the home of the groom,Rev Overt Skilbred,pastor of the Lutheran 
church,officiating,the ring ceremony being used.Only immediate relatives were 
present.After the wedding ceremony the couple left for Portland,where they 
will spend a few days.They will make their home on the grooms farm near this 
city,where he recently built a new bungalow,and which is one of the most 
attractive farm houses in this county.
Mr Mahlum is the eldest son of Mr ans mrs Tom mahlum,prominent farmers near 
Canby,and he is well known and enjoys a host of friends.
Miss Johnson is the daughter of Mr and Mrs herb johnson,of Canby and until 
recently was employed at the First National bank of this city.She is a 
charming young lady and a favorite of the younger set.
The Herald,with their host of friends wish them much happiness throughout 
their wedded life on the rough sea of matrimony.
Last saturday night-towards morning-a few of their friends thot to surprise 
them by giving them a chivaria,but found the Mr and Mrs mahlum were well 
prepared for them,and they were bounteously treated to ice cream,cookies,and 
other eats.All left with a full stomach and wished their host and hostess much 
happiness
