Charming Wedding Solemnized Saturday
Royal W.Cooke and Selma Hagen Married At Brides Home near Canby
The home of Mr and Mrs C.P Hagen in the Riverside District was the scene of 
one of the most charming weddings held in this community for many years,when 
their daughter,Selma,was united in Holy Wedlock to Mr Roayle William Cooke,of 
Portland,the ceremony being performed by Rev W.Boyd Moore,pastor of our local 
Methodist  church on Saturday,April 12,at 8 o'clock.
The rooms were beautifully decorated  in pink,lavender,white,green and yellow 
crepe paper,Oregon Grape and ferns,for this occasion.The beautiful wedding 
march was played by Mrs Theodore Hagen,sister in law of the bride.
Many telegrams of congratulations were recieved by the bride and groom;besides 
many beautiful and useful gifts which were presented by the many guests 
present,of which there were over forty,a good many who were deaf and dumb,and 
who received the words of the wedding from the fingers of Supt.O.L.McIntire,of 
the Oregon State School for The deaf and dumb,who was interpretator for the 
evening.

mr and Mrs Cooke,after a short honeymoon will make their home in Rose City 
Addition,Portland,Oregon,where the groom is employed.
The bride received the following interesting poem from a girl firend of hers 
who lives at 291 San Rafael St,Portland,Oregon:
Dear Selma:
if Royal is ever ahrd to please
and goes off in a huff
don't tease him for a kiss because
twill make him cross and gruff
instead just take a luttle book
that i am sending you
for if you cook such things as these
I know youll keep Royal true
perhaps some day a slinking vamp
will cast her eyes on him,
dont cry or plead,he will not heed
but bake a pie with vim
of silverware and linen 
and all that usual stuff
the other girls will send to you
I know youll gete enough
buth this that I am sending 
will teach you HOW to COOK
I know you want to please your Royal
