All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com September 21, 2006, 7:55 pm Clackamas County News October 20,1921 Odd fellows Have Wedding at Meeting Clackamas County Ditrict Royally Entertaining at Estacad-Adam Knight,Canby,Elected President Estacada,Oct.17.-A large wedding concluded the county district Odd Fellows convention here Saturday.The bridegroom was Red Ludlow,a prominent Odd Fellow of Estacada,and the bride,Miss Dorothy granum,a Rebekah of Portland.Rev J.T Thorp of Portland was the officiating clergyman,the madi of honor was Miss Martha Granum,sisiter of the bride,and the best man,Sylvester Lawrence of Estacada.The bridesmaids were Misses Dorothy Anderson and Frances Granum,the cousin o fthe bride of Portland.Eight flower girls proceeded the bride to the stage.the bride who was given away by her father,was becomingly gowned in white satin and a long veil. Large delegations of both Odd Fellows and rebekahs came to the convention from Oregon City,Molalla,milwaukie,Gresham and Boring.The Odd Fellows held their meeting in the park pavilion.the morning session being taken up with the regular convention proceedings.H.I Mckenney N.G. Estacada Lodge,gave the address od welcome,which was responded to by O.P. Miller,P.G.P.,Oregon City.New officers elected are : President;A.H.Knight,Canby:vice president,C.M.Brown,Estacada;Secretary,G.A.Dougherty,Mollalla;Treasurer,A.C. Brombach,Sandy.The next meeting will be held in Gresham. At the afternoon session the exemplifying of the first degree was given by teams from Oregon City and Molalla and the silver cup was won by Molalla Lodge No.184 The program in the evening was carried out virtually as planned with the addition of a speech by Grand Master Biggs of Prineville.Other speakers were Rev.E.A Smith of Lents,and President C Scheubel of Oregon City.A violin and piano duet by Mr and Mrs Alsburg,readin by Mrs R.H.Carter,violin solo by Edna carter,dialogue by Mesdames Val Cary,Rose Wilcox,Mary Smith,and Emma Lawrence.a solo by Mrs M.E.
