Canby Herald June 21,1928
Canby Farmer Is To Wed Next Saturday
Cornelis Bateson,owner of Twin Rivers farm north of Canby,and Miss Mildred 
Gilbert,daughter of Mr.and Mrs.L.M. Gilbert,superintendant of the boys 
training shool at Woodburn,wil be married at the First Congregational church 
in Eugene next Saturday afternoon.A reception will be held in the evening 
given by the Pi Beta  Phi sorority of the U.of O. at Eugene  of which Miss 
Gilbert is a member.Van Bateson,a cousin of Cornelius,will act as best man.
After the wedding the young ouple will spend a week on the coast and a week at 
Crater Lake,and will then return to Canby where they will be at home to their 
friends after July 4
