Young People Announce Marriage of June 24th
Miss Violet Evans Surprises Firends Here By Telling Of McMinnville Wedding 
Several Days Ago
The people of Canby were not a little surprised Wednesday morning,when Violet 
Evans,of Portland,announced to her relatives and firends here that she and 
David R Young ,also of Portland,had been married in McMinnville,Oregon,June 
24.According to the announcement,the couple left almost immediately after 
their marriage for Rockaway,where they spent a short honeymoon.They are now 
making their home in Portland,
Mr and Mrs Young were married in the Methodist church at McMinnville,only a 
few of the bride and grooms immediate friends were present.They were 
accompanied by Miss Lorraine Lee,of Canby,and Bruce Wells,of Portland.
The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Clyde Evans of Portland.She finished 
Washington High School and attended Reed College for two years.She is a niece 
of Mrs W.H bair,of this city,and has visited here in numerous occasions.
David Young,a graduate of O.A.C.,where he specialized in journalism intends to 
go into the newspaper work in Portland within a short time.
