Former Canby Woman Married Last Tuesday
The marriage of Mrs.mamie Brookins and John L.Etchison was solemnized 
Tuesday.the ring ceremony was read by the pastor of the Willamette Methodist 
Episcopal church,
mrs.carl Schmidt was matron of honor and Mrs.Schmidt the best man.Dorothy 
Brookins,daughter of the bride,also attended.
The bride wore a becoming gown of pink flowered silk,with picture hat to match.
Mr.and Mrs.Etchison have taken up their residence in thier new bungalow at 
Holly gardens,where they are to be at home to their friends June 1.
The bride,a former newspaper woman,made her home in Canby,Aurora and Salem 
before taking up her residence at Aneheim,Calif.,from which city she recently 
arrived.Previous to her departure for Oregon she was a guest of honor at 
several social events.
mr.Etchison has been employed at the Oregon City  post office for the past 20 
years.
in honor of their recent marriage Mr.and Mrs.Etchison were taken by surprise 
at their new home at Holly gardens friday evening by employees of the post 
office and their wives.
Mr.and Mrs.Etchison were presented with a handsome rocker.the presentation 
address was delivered by Julius Spagle,and responded to by Mr.Etchison.
games were enjoyed and refreshments were served.
