Aged pioneer Passes To Great betond
One of the most widely known pioneers of the Tualitin Valley passed away in 
the death of Mrs.Johanna Wood at the home of her daughter,Mrs 
H.W.McDonald,Monday,July 28.
Mrs.Wood was born in Germany and was 79 years of age,having celebrated her 
birthday July Fourth,the occasion being a demonstration in her hnor by a 
friend.
The deceased is survived by five daughters,Mrs.****,Tigard,Mrs.Elizabeth 
Vincent,Mrs.H.W.McDonld all of Tiagrd;Mrs.Walter Price of Marcola,and 
mrs.W.S.McDaniel od Eugene,two sons,John Hohman of Portlnad,and dr.W.H.Pllard 
of Springfield and thirteen gandchildren.
The funeral was held from the Evangelical church,Wednesday 
afternoon,Rev.E.Maurer officiating.Burila was in Crescent Grove Cemetary.
The services at the grave were in charge of the Grange,of which she had long 
been an active member,retaining her interest in the work until the very last.
Mrs.Wood leaves a host of friends in this community who will long remember her 
for her kindness and charity.
In this does a noble life have its rewards.
