All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com October 14, 2006, 3:51 pm Canby Herald and Clackamas County News August 3,1922 Aged resident Victim of Paralytic Stroke Sam Wilkerson of this City Dies after Illness of Five Months At Age of 70 Years Sam Wilkerson,resident of this section for the past 20 years,passed away at the home of Mr and Mrs John Nieland of this city,on Thursday Afternoon,July 27,after an illness of about six months Mr Wilkerson was stricken on April 10,last,with paralysis,from which he was steadily improving and with assistance he was able to be about but he suffered a second paralytic stroke about two weeks ago which was too much for him in his weakened condition. Sam Wilkerson,was born at Trenton,Mo.,on February10,1852 and was at the time of death 70 years,5 months and 17 days old.He resided in Missouri until 1902,when he moved to the West,settling on a farm near this city,where he lived until a few years ago,when he took up his residence in this city,and when taken ill he was removed to the home of Mr and Mrs John Nieland,where he passed away. The funeral services were held at the chapel of Holman and Pace,Oregon City,with rev W.Boyd Moore,pastor of the Canby M.E. Church officiating.Internment was in Zion cemetary near Canby. Mr Wilkerson leaves to mourn his loss two sons,Eddie and Leo,who reside near this city.
