Pioneer Resident Passes To Her Rest Friday
Mrs Eliza Ellen Whipple,aged 66 years,died at Canby Friday,May 22,after a long 
illness.She had been in the Oregon City Hospital for some time and everything 
that could be done to relieve her was granted,but to no avail.
Mrs Whipple,whose maiden name was Eliza Ellen Starkweather,was born at 
Molalla,Oregon,December 29,1855.She grew to womanhood in the family home at 
Concord,Oregon and was married to Gardner Whipple march 6,1890.Since then her 
home has been in Canby.She is survived by four children,namely:Mrs Amy Kuehl 
of Canby,Mrs Olson Critser of Portland,Gardener Whipple of Canby,also a sister 
Mrs Ida S Derry,and two brothers,Wm L. Starkweather and Harvey 
G.Starkweather,all of Concord.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church here Sunday afternoon at 2 
o'clock,and internment was made in the Clackamas Cemetary
