All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com September 2, 2006, 7:20 pm Clackamas County News August 4,1921 Former Resident passes in Stafford Tom S Watson,son of the late Mr and Mrs Graham Watson,died last Friday night at 9 o'clock at the home of his daughter,Mrs Laura Akers of Stafford,Kansas.Mr Watson was the youngest of three children abd at the time of his death was 80 years old.He was born in Indiana and in the early days he moved to Stafford,kansas,where he lived a number of years with his wife,Mrs Susane Watson and children and where he helped to build the city of Stafford having erected his blacksmith shop there.In 1907 his wife died and he came to Mulino,Oregon,where his sister,Mrs Sarah james,who was a widow lived.A few years later they moved to Canby and have lived here since until Mr Watson became suddenly ill and he thought it was best for him to go back to his daughter,Mrs Laura Akers, of Stafford,Kansas,and having left here about three weeks ago,accompanied by Dr H.E Dedman.Last week he had an operation for his ailment and having become too weak,he quietly passed away.he leaves to mourn his loss a sister,Mrs Sarah James of Canby,a daughter,Mrs Laura Akers of Stafford,Kansas,and a son,Charles Watson,also of that place.Also a host of friends who regret the loss of a good man and friend. Internment took place at the Stafford cemetary where he was laid to rest by the side of his beloved wife.
