Calckamas County news December 1,1921
Meridian Resident Found Dead in Bed
Christian Trost,aged 55 years,a resident of the vicinity of the Meridian 
School house,southeast of Aurora for the past 27 years,was found dead in his 
bed by members of the family,when they went to call him Sunday morning,and a 
postmortem conducted by Coroner O.A.Pace of Oregon City,assisted by a doctor 
from Hubbard,showed that the man had been suffering from tuberculosis,but that 
pneumonia was the direct cause of death.Mr Trost had been in poor health for a 
long time and had been taking medicine prescribed by a Chinese doctor from 
Portland.The deceased is survived by his wife,louise,and several children.the 
remains were taken in charge by Undertaker Miller of Aurora,and the funeral 
was held from the last home in the Meridian district,with internment in the 
Odd Fellows cemetary,by the side of the daughter.
