Clackamas County Independent October 1,1898
Geo S Smith of Aurora has filed a petition in the probate court for the 
appointment of himself as administrator of the estate of Stephen 
Smith,deceased,whose death occured at Aurora on September 17,1898.the 
petitioner is the olny living heir of the deceased.the estate is valued at 
$2400,of which $500 is in real estate and $400 in personal property iin Marion 
County,and $1500 in realty in Clackamas County.Judge Terrel appointed the 
petitioner as per latters request,and his bond was fixed at $4800.Henry 
Kraus,David Scholl and H.L.Gerwig were appointed appraisers of the estate
