Funeral services were held at the Slater home in Sherwood and the remains interred in the Tualatin cemetary Tuesday morning.Rev Cowman delivered a touching sermon over the remains and a quartet sang some very impressive songs Dora Crowl was born in Ohio,June 27,1874,died November 13,1911.Age at death 37 years.She was married to C.B Slater Decemebr 15,1866,at Mankato,Jule county,Kansas.With her husband and little girl she came ot Sherwood,Oregon,on the 4th day of August,this year Mrs Slater made no religious profession but was a staunch believer in the doctrine of Christianity and,as near as possible,tried to live an upright life. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved ones.Death is a solemn thing and when one thinks that all must follow down the same path the grief is much harder to bear ,and the sympathetic nerves are drawn just a little tighter.The only hope is to live a life that is commendable to God so that the parting on this earth will only be temporary,and that loved ones gone before will be met in heaven.
