Clackamas County News November 24,1921
Former resident dies in California
Word was received here last week of the death of Elisha Riggs at Visaalia 
California at the home of his son,Edward.Death came last wednesday morning at 
11:40 o'clock.The remains were shipped to Canby,where he was laid to rest in 
the Zion cemetary,friday morning.
Mr Riggs was born in the East April 11,1841,and came to Canby at the age of 
six years residing near Macksberg with his oarents.he passed away at the age 
of 84 years,his wife preceding him to her reward last July.
Two children survive to mourn his loss,a son,Edward Riggs of Visalaia,Calif., 
and a daughter,Mrs Olive Hartle,formerly a Canby resident,but more recently of 
oregon City
