Funeral Services held Monday For M. Richter
Funeral services for the late Martin Richter,old time settler of this 
community,who died at his home in the Union hall District near this city,last 
Saturday morning,were held from the Evangelical church at Canby,Monday 
afternoon,with Rev G.W Plummer ,pastor of the church here and Rev Schutze,of 
Beaver Creek,officiating.Internment was in Zion cemetary.Holman and Pace ,of 
oregon City,had charge of the funeral arrangements.
Mr Richter was an old pioneer of this section,having resided on the farm where 
he died for the past 30 years.He was born in Russia on November 14,1851,and 
would have been 72 years old on his next birthday.He came to the United States 
June 11,1893,settling on the farm at Union hall ,where he resided ever since.
Besides his widow,Catherine Richter,he is survived by the following 
children,Chris Richter,Mrs John Bolander,Mrs F.J. Holzman,Henry Richter,all of 
Beaver Creek,Mrs D A Rice ,of Ashland,Miss Aletha Richter,of Portland,and Sam 
Richter,who has been making his home on the farm.He is also survived by one 
brother in California and one sister in Idaho,also by seven grandchildren
