All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************************* Oregon City Enterprise Courier - Tuesday 30 October 1917 Clackamas Resident William Phillips Death Saturday William Phillips, prominent Oregon pioneer, died at the family home at Clackamas Saturday night at 9 o'clock, age 90 years. The funeral service will be conducted from the Methodist Church at Clackamas Cemetery, beside the remains of his wife. Deceased was born in Indiana September 14, 1827 crossing the Plains with his parents in 1846, family settled at Clackamas Station, where Mr. Phillips resided most of his life. In 1848 he married Miss Mills, of Clackamas County. He is survived by five childien: William A. Phillips, of North Yakima, WA; Alvis W. Phillips of Oregon City; Johnie of North Yakima, WA; Mrs. Emma Jones of Clackamas and Mrs. Hattie Robinson of Clackamas, his youngest daughter with whom he made his home until death.
