H.J Phelps
H.J Phelps,a former resident of Canby and a brother of Mrs irvin Wheeler,of 
this city,died at the family home at East Hoyt 
St.,Portland,Oregon,Friday,january 4th,at the age of 54 years.he leaves his 
wife,Mrs Mary F.Phelps and daughter,Kathryn;two sister,Mrs Aletha Webb of 
Portland,and Mrs Irvin Wheeler of Canby,a brother,Alvin G Phelps,of Canby and 
a step brother,Warren W.Freeze,of Canby. Funeral services were held from the 
East Side Funeral Conservatory,Portland,on Monday,January 7th,with internment 
in the Rose City Cemetary.Many friends attended the funerla services and the 
casket was heavily laden with many beautiful flowers.mr Phelps has a host of 
friends in this community and was admired and well like dby everyone.
