The service was opened by the choir singing"I know that my redeemer liveth" after which Rev Fosmark led in prayer.Then Mr Alvin Erickson sang a song in Norwegian,followed by scripture reading by Rev Fosmark from Rev.21:1-8.Then a solo by Mr Erickson after which Rev Wicker brought a message from Ecclesiaster 12:7"the shall the dust return to earth as it was,and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it"The theme,being "Death,what is it" A brief outline of the message is as follows: 1.Dissolution of the union of the spirit and body. 2.An end of earhtly relations and plans,severs all ties,stops all toil and dislodges all posessions. 3.It is a beginning: Heb.9:27."And it is appointed unto man once to die,but after this the judgement " But it is not another probation,not annihilation,not an eternal sleep,but the judgement. 4.It is a harvest of seed that is sown,Gal.6:7-8.After the message the choir sang"We shall never say goodbye in heaven" The church was beautifully decoreated with an arch of cedar and autumn leaves and the words "At Rest" done in silver,hung just inside the arch,under which rested a bank of chrysanthemums and ferns. The pallbearers were old friends of the deceased: Jens Anderson,Arnt Boe,Andrew Olson,A.L.Kleve,Paul Sollie,and John Furre Hans nelson Myten was born in Norway Feb1,1845 and died in Oak Grove,Oregon,Oct 31,1923,at the age of 78 years,and nine months.When but 19 years old,he came to America,settling in Minnesota,where he was married to Lena Allen.She died March 3rd,1920 at Oak Grove,Oregon,and Mr Myten was laid beside her to await the resurrection morning.Mr Myten is survived by four children: Nels,Clara,and Harry Myten and Mrs Ernest Hov.--Cor File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/or/clackamas/obits/m/myten2340gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/orfiles/ File size: 2.7 Kb
