Canby Herald and Clackamas County News April 12,1923
The much beloved and respected Harry Melvin passed away last Friday,April 6.Mr 
melvin had resided in this community for many years.Before losing his eye 
sight ,about seven years ago,he was one of the foremost figures  here,taking 
an active part in public affairs and working always for the betterment of the 
community.he was a veteran of the Civil war,and was just under 85 years of age 
when he died .His cheerful presence will be missed by all,but knowing his life 
and character as we do,we feel assured he has passed on to a happier existence.
