Mrs J.C.Marks passes away in Portland
Was born in Aurora in 1871-parents were pioneers of this section settling here 
in 1865
Mrs Kate Marks,wife of J.Coleman Marks,a prominent resident of Marks 
Prairie,passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital ,Portland,Tuseday 
morning,January 18th,where she had undergone a surgical operation.
Mrs Marks was the daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret Wolfer,who were 
pioneers in Marion county,having crossed the plains by ox team in 1865.Mrs 
Mark was born in Aurora,August 5,1871,and was married to J.Coleman 
Marks ,Decemebr 3(?),1899.
Mrs Marks is survived by her husband,four daughters,Vesta,Jewell,Electa and 
Cleo,all of Marks Prairie;one sister,Mrs grant D.Dimick,of Oregon City,and one 
brother,Henry A Wolfer of Canby.The funeral services will be held from the 
Presbyterian Church in Aurora this afternoon(Thursday)January 20th at 1:30 
o'clock,and internment will be in the Arora Cemetary.
