All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com November 24, 2006, 1:48 pm Canby Herald and Clackamas County News July 10,1924 Funeral Services Held For Thos.Mahlum Mon Funeral services Held Tuesday from Canby Methodist Church With Internment in Zoar Lutheran Church After 12 years of suffering from paralysis,during which time he was practically helpless,Thomas Mahlum 75 year old Canby resident,died at his home Monday Morning.July 7,at 6:30 o'clock The deceased is survived by his widow and four children,james,melvin and Clara of Canby,and Mrs Millie Merz of Portland;he is also survived by one sister,Mrs S Erickson,of Barlow,one brother,Olaud mahlum of North dakota,and a host of friends throughout the entire county Thomas Mahlum was born in Norway,August 1848.He came to the United States with his parents when he was sixteen years of age.the family first settled in South Dakota,where Thomas Mahlum made his home .he was married in 1890 and moved to Canby in 1907 where he and his family have resided until his death.Four years after moving to his Canby home,Mr Mahlum was stricken with the disease which finally caused his death the body was taken to the Miller undertaking Parlors at Aurora.Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the methodist church,with rev H Rogen,officiating.the church was packed with people who came to pay their respects to their old friend.the casket was covered with a profusion of beautiful flowers .Internment was made in the Zoar Lutheran Cemetary near Canby File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/or/clackamas/obits/m/mahlum2375gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/orfiles/ File size: 2.0 Kb
