Fall Proves fatal To Vernie Leach
Vernie Leach,age 19,son of Mr and Mrs Wm.Leach of this city was instantly 
killed here this evening at 7:30 o'clock,when he fell and struck his head on 
the concrete curb in ffront of the George Meeks barber shop.
Eye witnesses who saw the accident stated that several young boys were 
scuffling out in the street and that young Leach attempted to part them ina  
friendlt way,when he became subject to a fainting spell,falling with his head 
against the curb.
Dr Dedman was summoned at once and after his examination it was found that the 
young mans neck was broke and that death was instantaneous.
The body was removed to Millers Undertaking Parlor at Aurora,and will be 
brought back to Canby for the coroners inquest tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.
