All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com November 2, 2006, 7:41 pm Canby Herald and Clackamas County news February 22,1923 Henry Kocher Buried at Aurora,Was Old Pioneer Funeral services for Henry Kocher,old Oregon pioneer,who died at his home in this city,early Monday morning from heart trouble,was held from the residence Wednesday,at 1 o'clock,Rev G.W Plumer,of this city,officiating.Internment was in the Aurora cemetary,S.A Miller was in charge of the funeral arrangments. Henry Kocher was born in Allegheny county,Pa.,Sept 18,1844,and at the time of his death was 78 years,6 months and 18 days old.In 1845 he moved to bethel,Mo.,crossing the plains to Oregon in 1863,where he spent the first four years in Oregon at the Giesy home near Wilsonville,now known as the Muecke farm.He farmed for three years on what is now known as the French Prairie,moving from there to Marks Prairie on the farm which he still owned,where he resided until 1903,when he moved to Canby,where he reside duntil his death.he lived in Clackamas County for 57 years ,being one of the oldest pioneers in the county.
