All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com October 5, 2006, 7:56 pm Clackamas County News June 23,1921 Death Calls Another of Canbys Pioneers In the death last Friday morning of Andrew kocher at his home here,Canby lost one of its pioneer and highly respected residents.Mr Kocher who was 70 years of age had lived for more than 28 years in Canby .He was largely responsible for the selection of Canby as the site for the annual county fair,and each year has worked hard for the success of the exhibition. he had been at the head of the poultry division of the fair for a number of years,and was working for it again this year,when he was suddenly taken ill.he had been a raiser of thoroughbred poultry for many years and had encouraged others iin the industry. Kocher was born in Behtel,Mo., and when but a year old was brought to Oreogn by his mother,the late Mrs catherine Kocher.The family settled at Aurora,first as part of the old colony which established the place.Surviving mr Kocher are his wife.Mrs Ella Kocher of Canby; a son,Calvin of Portland; a brother,Henry,and a sister,Miss Christina Kocher,both of Canby.
