John Kabourek Sr.,Dies at Home In Willamette
Funeral services for John Kabourek,Sr.,who died in the Oregon City hospital 
early Monday morning after a brief illness,were held from the catholic Church 
here,Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Matt Jonas officiating at the 
service.Internment was in Zion cemetary near htis city.
John Jacob Kabourek was born in Towse,Bohemia,Austria,May 5,1854 and at the 
time of his death was 68 years,eight months,and 17 days old.He received his 
education in Vienna,Austria-Hungaria,where he became a cabinet maker and a 
musician.When he was twenty years old he came to America.in 1876 he was united 
in marriage to gertrude Mona Reif in Wisconsin,after they came to 
Oregon,settling near Macksberg,where they resided for 19 years,since which 
time he has been living in Willamette.
He leaves to mourn his loss,besides his widow,the following children,Jospeh 
Kabourek,of Bandon,oregon,Mrs Milie Hornback,of Creswell,Ore.,Mrs mary Hornig 
and John Kabourek,of Canby.He is also survived by 13 grandchildren
