Knut O Hills Dies At Home In Canby
Funeral Services To Be Held From Lutheran Church Tomorrow
Knut O Hills,resident of this city for the past 13 years,passed away at his 
home here after a years illness,on Tuesday,February 12,1924,at the age of 75 
years,three months and six days
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Zoar 
Lutheran Church of this city,with Rev H Rogen,pastor of the 
church,officiating,with internment in the Zion cemetary near this city.The 
funeral arrangements will be in charge of S.A Miller Undertaking Parlor,Aurora
Mr Hills made many friends during the time he made his home here,and was 
highly loved and respected by all who knew him.
Knut O Hills was born in Valdres,Norway,November 6,1848,and came to the UNited 
States when but three years of age,settling in Madison,Wisconsin,where he 
spent his boyhood days.At the age of 21 he was married and settle in Polk 
County,Minnesota,to which union two children were born,one of whom 
survives.After the death of his first wife he was married in 1876 to Ingeborg 
Baker,to which union eight children were born,all of whom survive him.He later 
moved to South Dakota,where he lived for a few years ,later settling in Wilkin 
County,Minnesota,where he lived for 22 years.The Angel of death again visited 
the home and he was left a widower for the second time in 1900.In 1902 he was 
unite din marriage to Mrs bertha Kolden.Theymade their home in Wisconsin for a 
number of years ,coming west in 1911,and settling in Canby,where he made his 
home until his death
Besides his wife,Mr Hills is survived by the following children:Ole and ben 
Hills,of Toppenah,North Dakota;Mrs Laura Wyngarden,Pettibone,North Dakota;Mrs 
Josie hart,Roulean,Canada;mrs Ida Nepper,Mrs Agnes Dickerman,Mrs mary 
Atkins,Oscar Hills,all of Butte,Montana;and Mrs Bertha Danielson,of this 
city.He is also survived by 18 grand children
