Former Resident of Canby Passes Away
William S.Gribble,long a resident of Canby,passed away at The 
Dalles,Oregon,December 30,1928,following an operation for appendiciitis.He was 
buried at the I.O.O.F. Cemetary at the Dalles.
Mr.Gribble was born at Gribble Prairie,near Canby,sixty six years ago,and 
lived in Canby and vicinty for thirty years.h was a member of Myrtle Assembly 
United Artisans,of Canby,and the Odd Fellows of Hood River,Oregon.
He leves a host of friends as well as many relatives.among those a wife,Nettie 
H.,and a diughter of,Mrs. Harold Ames,oth The Dalles.The brothers are:Raymond 
N.,of The Dalles,Walter L.of Los Angeles.Cal.,Elmer W.Canby and Martin j.of 
Portland.Also a half brother,Bruce Billings,and a stepfather,A.B.Billings,of 
Hood River.
