Canby Herald and Clackamas County News January 17,1924
Funeral Services held For Ruth Gelbrich,Sat.
Ruth Magdalene Gelbrich,was born July 18,1908 at Lone Elder.She attended the 
Lone Elder Grammar school from which she graduated.In September,1922,she 
enterd the Canby High School,but became ill the latter part of December and 
was taken to Pierce Sanitarium,where she was treated for tuberculosis.She 
returned to her home again in March 1923,very much improved in health and 
continued her treatment at home .On New years Day she contracted a cold which 
sent her to her bed.She died January 9,1924.
Funeral services were held at the Macksberg Lutheran Church,Saturday,January 
12,Rev. Herman Lucas,pastor of the church,officiating.She was laid to rest in 
the family lot in the Zion Cemetary near Canby.
The pallbearers were: Chrsitina Rueck,Anna Gibson,Clara Johnson,Sophie and 
gertrude Kraxberger.
The deceased leaves to mourn her loss her parents Mr and Mrs Charles 
Gelbrich,two sisters,Mrs Eric Merz and Hannah Gelbrich;four brothers,Henry,of 
Portland,Louis,William and John Gelbrich,of Canby
